The Blackwing Lair is a very special instance, which is to be found in the blackrock. The Blackrock belongs to the Eastern Kingdoms and can be reached from two sides, from the burning steppe and from the searing gorge. It is one of the highest mountains in Azeroth and was created after the War of the Three Hammers. The Blackwing Lair is a raid for 40 level 60 players and is located at the highest point of the Citadel.
Nefarian is the ruler of the Black Dragon Brood and Blackrock. He is also the final boss of the Blackwing Lair and cruelly controls his followers. He is the son of Deathwing and has taken the lead since his disappearance.
Deathwing once embodied the strength of Azeroth, because he was given some of the power of the Titans. But all his power could not save him from the Dark Force. Ever since Ragnaros was liberated, he and Nefarian have had a constant conflict and are fighting each other. Nefarian has been experimenting with the various dragonflights for some time to create his own dragonflight. In all his experiments he has artificially created the Chromatic Dragonflight. These hermaphrodites are dragons that have already come into the world spoiled. He combined the eggs of the Black Dragonflight and the stolen eggs of the Red Dragonflight with dark magic to create the Chromatic Dragons. One of Nefarian's favorite creations is Chromaggus and he is one of the bosses in the Blackwing Lair. Chromaggus is a Drakeoden and is kept as a lapdog by Nefarian.
To enter the Blackwing Lair, you must first unlock it. To unlock this raid you will need a preliminary quest. You need to know that there is no real quest giver. You'll need to defeat a master armorer at the entrance of the Blackwing Lair. He will have a letter with him to start the quest. With this letter the quest "General Drakkisath's Command" will be activated and you can make your way to the general. General Drakkisath awaits you at Upper Blackrock Spire. When you've finished it, click on the orb behind General Drakkisath to complete the quest. If you now go in front of the raid entrance from the Blackwing Lair, you can click on the orb and be teleported directly into the raid.
When you enter the Blackwing Lair, a total of eight bosses await you. These bosses are: Broodlord Lashlayer, Chromaggus, Firemaw, Flamegor, Nefarian, Razorgore the Untamed, Shadowwing and Vaelastrasz the Corrupted.
