One of the first raids ever to take place in WoW Vanilla was the melted core, with Onyxia's Lair. In WoW Classic this raid comes back and becomes one of the heaviest and most demanding raids of all time.
The molten core belongs to one of the deepest points in the blackrock. Blackrock in general is one of the largest mountains in Azeroth and is located in the Eastern Kingdom. The core lies between the Burning Steppes and the Searing Gorge.
The raid is designed for 40 level 60 players. A total of 10 bosses with Ragnaros, the ancient god as final boss, await you in the raid. Lucifron is the first boss and he is a flamewalker. He is a captain of Ragnaros. The second boss is the core hound Magmadar. Core hounds are dog-like creatures that come out of the lava. The next flamewalker and third boss in the list is Gehennas. He also belongs to the captains of Ragnaros and the hand of Gehennas is required by Hydraxis as evidence. The most powerful lava elementary is the fourth boss and belongs to the highest officers of Ragnaros. His name is Garr and will not make your life easy. The fifth boss, Garr, is the highest ranked officer under the Fire Lord and he is considered the strongest being after Ragnaros. Shazzrah is the sixth boss and comes from the people of the Flamewalkers and belongs to the captains. Golemagg the Incinerator is the seventh boss and belongs to the giants and is accompanied by two bloodthirsty bloodhounds. The eighth Boss is Sulfuron Harbringer and belongs also to the people of the Flamewalker. The ninth boss is important to be able to compete against Ragnaros at all, because he is the court master and he is the only one who can call Ragnaros at all. We are talking about Majordomus Executus and he also belongs to the flame transformers.
In the Molten Core, Ragnaros the Firelord awaits you. He is the ruler of the Fire Elementals and over the Elemental Plane of Fire. Ragnaros belongs to one of the four powerful elemental beings and they lead the armies of the Old Gods. The molten core is his home and he is the final boss of the raid.
The War of the Elements, which destroyed the Old Gods. The four Old Gods ruled the world and none could become nearly dangerous for them, but when the Titans came to make the lands blossom, the Old Gods didn't want this and so a war broke out between the Titans and the Old Gods. The Titans could push back the elemental armies and destroy the gods. Ragnaros was banished and wanted to regain the power he had been deprived of.
The War of the Three Hammers plays an important role in history. 300 years ago, the Dark Iron clan began declaring war on the other dwarven races. Emperor Dagran Thaurissan of the Dark Iron Dwarves underestimated his enemies, because the Bronzebeard Klan and the Wildhammer Klan have allied against him. The Dark Iron clan was pushed back into the Blackrock. Thaurissan was defeated and had only one chance to win the war. His chance was to reawaken the ancient powers. He conjured the fire lord back into the world and this should turn out to be a mistake, it cost Thaurissan his life and the Dark Iron clan was enslaved by Ragnaros. Ragnaros the Fire Lord has risen again and now reigns in the Blackrock Depths.
