PvP is a major component of WoW and is available in many different game modes. The player versus player games are 2vs2, 3vs3 and in all you can collect points for rating. The rating is there for you to see who is the best and it is for you to see how good you are at the moment. For 3vs3 fights there are rated and not rated fights. The unrated ones are more for practicing and thinking up new tactics.
The achievement you get per rating are off:
